The Sultana Romance website, www.thesultanaromance.com, was launched in memory of the ship, The Sultana, that exploded on the Mississippi River carrying hundreds of Civil War POWs. The event wasn’t properly recognized or memorialized as John Wilkes Booth was shot at about the same time.
